Dear Jacqueline,
For us it was in one word: paradise !!!
It was so great to be there. At first the Villa is fantastic! The comfort is very great, the atmosphere fantastic and all aspects seem to fit in this villa. The rooms are wide and full of luxury. The swimming pool is so nice and kept clean by Nengah.
The first nights we had to get used to living in an Indonesian village. Dogs barking sometimes, roosters starting to scream to each other very early. But after a couple of days we were used to it and it felt like normal.
We are spoiled by Rita who took care of everything. She did our shopping, cooked our meals and took care of everything. In the beginning we had the idea that we should have dinner in the restaurants in Sanur or Kuta. But after we tasted the difference in the quality and richness of Rita’s meals, we did not go out for dinner anymore.
Every night she has cooked for us a very nice meal, every time another taste and new flavors. We never have eaten so much fruit in our lives. What a taste, what a richness! I have eaten fruits that I never have heard of!!
Almost every other day we went out with Made to see the spectacular things of Bali. What a great driver, what a safe driver!! He could explain many things of Bali and we learned a lot of him.
Of course we were very lucky that we have seen the cremation ceremony of the queen of Ibud. Spectacular!! But we also enjoyed very much the happening where all the barongs are blessed. An occasion with only local people. We were the only tourists. Great photographs and very good atmosphere.
Every 3 or 4 days we asked for Eka who did our massages. What a luxury and for that price!!
We felt at home in Gang Nusah Dua. When we went out walking in the neighborhood, people started to talk to us. They were all very friendly and polite. We felt at home.
Well I can tell you for hours and hours of our positive experiences, but I have to end now. It was fantastic!! You might receive more people from Holland, because of my positive answers to people asking me: how were your holidays.
I made some 1200 photo’s. Did not see all of them yet. Maybe I can make a selection and send it to you.
For now I have to end!
It was paradise!!

Merci à Jacqueline, Rita, Nengah, Hilu, Pierre, Sumada et Made pour leur accueil, gentillesse et attention constante à nous offrir des moments inoubliables de partage, de découverte et de beauté dans leur belle île. Cadre enchanteur de la villa Risa, paysages fabuleux, sites et temples fascinants, climat divin, dégustations savoureuses (merci Rita), rires et papotes dans la cuisine, sur le perron. Nos jeunes n'oublieront jamais leur premier séjour en Asie; et nous tous cette belle île, Bali. Voyage et vacances très réussies !

Chère Madame,
Nous voilà de retour après un très agréable séjour dans votre belle demeure.
L idée de résider dans un petit village, loin des touristes est bien originale et très appréciée par nous !
Rita a cuisiné à merveille ! Malheureusement nous avons tous les trois pris du poids pendant notre séjour….
..
En résumé : voyage et hébergement TRES réussi !

We spend the last week of April in the Villa Risa.
The villa is very nice and comfortable. It was just wonderful, like heaven.... your really feel like "home sweet home".
Many thanks to Rita and Nengah who were so nice and helpful with us. Their children Pierre and Iluh are just gorgeous. I think often of them.
Bali and balinese people are so friendly.
We were also happy that we would travel so safely around the island with our driver Putu.
Our son Sacha told us our stay in Bali was his most beautiful holidays. Staying at the Villa Risa gave him the opportunity to meet balinese children and he learned a lot with them, especially with his friend Putu. He will never forget him.
You never forget such a nice experience, we hope to go back soon :o)

Un séjour enchanteur dans un cadre de rêve !
Un accueil inoubliable par une famille adorable !
Rita et son mari véritablement aux petits soins, matin et soir et Hilu et Pierre souriants, adorables et si gentils avec notre petit Guillaume… qui désespéré à l’idée de les quitter.
Ajoutons les délicieux soupers de Rita.. que demander de plus… Cà doit être ça le paradis !!
Merci Jacqueline pour tout ça et merci à Rita, Nengah, Hilu, Pierre for the wonderful stay.

Un voyage unique avec un point d’ancrage parfait. Merci Jacqueline pour ce lieu. Merci de m’y avoir invitée ; loin du tourisme, loin du bruit mercantile mais bien au cœur du pays.
Ce cœur fait d’hospitalité, de gentillesse, d’attention. Oui merci à toi Jacqueline. Mais merci aussi à Olivier qui te permet de poursuivre ton projet tout en l’adoptant par rapport au projet initial.
Quant à Rita et Nengah que dire si ce n’est que le les aime. Pour la soupe bien sûr, pour les offrandes olie soir et plus fondamentalement pour ce qu’ils sont. J'emporte évidement le sérieux d’Hiluh et le dynamisme de Pierre avec moi.
Merci aussi à Sumada et à Oka, sans eux, la Villa Risa n’existerait pas ou ne serait pas ce qu’elle est d’aujourd’hui. Je leur souhaite paix et prospérité.
Je souhaite que Bali reste toujours Bali, un lieu d’offrandes et d’abondance de ce qui nous est le plus essentiel. Et puis…vive le coq !
